Having had probably the worst summer ever after a dismal year of non stop rain and darkness...
September came and on a particularly dark afternoon I looked out and said " FTS!"
went online -
saw some offers to Hawaii, talked with Mr. Man who has air miles around the world one million times-I stressed the importance of going while one is still living. For 88 bucks round trip for all three of us we could not afford to stay home!
I said "Book 'em, Dano"
We may be staying in a dive, not sure , and the forecast is for, you guessed it...RAIN. but it is warm and the beaches are fine, so, we be seeing you on the flip side!
Have a great holiday vaca whatever it is that you are doing. I will bring you back some sand !

1. In Hawaii it is illegal to get a tattoo behind your ear or on your eyelid unless in the presence of a registered physician.
2. All residents may be fined as a result of not owning a boat.
3. Billboards are outlawed.
4. It's illegal for a shooting gallery to offer liquor as a prize.
5. Coins are not allowed to be placed in one's ear.
6. It used to be the law in Hawaii that children had to obey all "lawful and moral" commands of their parents.
7. In Honolulu it is unlawful to annoy any bird within the limits of any public park.
8. It is illegal to appear in public wearing only swimming trunks.
9. It is illegal to own a mongoose without a permit.

Hey, I don't want a mongoose anyway. Have a wonderful time - rain and all. If you want to bone up on some fiction mixed with non-fiction, then you should read Honolulu by Alan Brennert. It's a great book mainly about Korean mail order brides and the beginnings of Honolulu.
