Cleaning out the book shelf I uncovered my notebook from a few years ago- collaged the front and the back with clippings from old magazines left around.

I was going to keep notes in it re: art and colour and techniques but it quickly became a doodle book.

The masking tape was on the table and became a circle maker- pens filled in the circles with designs from who knows where, just doodling.

I wanted to see how the paper reacted to watercolour and splashed this wheel thing on only to realize that all paper is not equal... This is drawing paper.

Looking at some magazine this woman struck my fancy so I doodled her with oil pastels.

It was a full moon-

It was Autumn-

I had watercolour paper that I poured colour on, the image that sort of surfaced was this "Coming home from the Party"bird and fairy on a dragon taxi. I promise I was not high when this image happened.

The wing is separate, folded back to reveal the bird's party shoes.

Looking in the mirror with a hat on...

the back of the notebook collaged- there were more doodles but not very nice ones- back on the shelf until I drag out paints and pencils again. I have so much to learn and I think that I am very brave to poste these doodley doos.

Doodles and dreams. Good night.

God you amaze me! Can I live in your creative brain for just one week. The talent!
Some day, when your notebook is an antique, maybe someone will find it and be as awe-inspired as I am -- and think maybe we were all as talented as you! Hah!
Oh, Linda Sue!! You are SO talented - my favourites are the collaged cover, and those fantastic round doodles, and the oil-painted woman, and your self-portrait drawing. All fantastic! I haven't done any art-journally stuff for the last two months - but now I'm in the mood for collaging!
I love the colors and the detail in "Autumn" and the whimsy in "Coming Home from the Party." Your notebook is MUCH more imaginative than any of mine. Maybe when I got in BIG trouble for drawing all over my math papers in fifth grade (although she did give me a huge stack of typing paper to draw on) my doodling and decorating became a little stifled. No, won't blame it on the teacher...you just have a cooler doodle book.
Your doodles are amazing...each a work of art of their own. I like the dragon and his passengers, fabulous.
OMG, this is the best post!
The most gorgeous doodles and doos I have ever seen.
The bird with the party shoes carrying you up and up and up.
I want him to now carry me, could you send him back for me Linda Sue.
These are super fantastic.
Can I see more of your paintings and doodles please Sir?
Love Renee xoxo
Your doodley doos are awesome!!! I love the dragon taxi & crew especially, and the masking tape circles... also, the collaged covers! Just so talented.
And I'm so LOVING seeing your felted babies emerging again! That crow & garland girl threesome are adorable. Have you read Blackbringer by Laini Taylor? Such a lovely story about a sassy fairy called Magpie Windwitch, raised by a band of loveable crows who are travelling actors... It's brilliant - funny and clever and sweet. Your little crowd brought it to mind - so lovely they are!
You're amazing! Look at all of that color!! So creative and full of life...so you!! Loved this.
